During October 2025 through January 2026, Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program launched a new program called the "WIC Ambassador Program." A WIC Ambassador is a trusted community member who shares information about WIC, helps families use their benefits, connects them to resources, and serves as a messenger for community members about WIC updates and opportunities.

In 4 sessions, JCPH trained at least 150 WIC Ambassadors. WIC Ambassadors include staff and volunteers at food pantries, staff from Jeffco Human Services and Public Health, other food systems organizations, and various advocates throughout the community. Trained participants received “Ask Me About WIC” swag items to be easily recognized in the community.
